Band Statement: B.B. Red and the Spawners represent the 5 species of salmon that are fished in Bristol Bay; Reds, Kings, Chums, Silvers and Humpies. They are rough and tough and have dodged fishing nets, lures, swift currents, seals, eagles and bears to spread their seed. They will continue to do so, so long as their spawning grounds are protected from unhealthy development. These spunky fish of the Bay are singing the deep water blues to save the Bristol Bay water shed from mining pollutants.
