Arctic village Caribou mural 2013
The Arctic Village mural was organized with the Gwich'in Steering Committee and Alaska Youth For Environmental Action. It was a community based project that focuses on the importance of the caribou to the Gwich'in People and Alaska. Everyone was able to paint their own caribou in whatever style they chose. It came together as one herd on the side of the youth center and store in Arctic Village.

Dillingham Elementary School Mural
Respectful, Responsible and Safe is the motto at the Elemenary school. In 2011 we had a contest at the school and picked 4 drawings to combine into one image. The background was designed by one student and the 3 animals were each designed by a different student. The winners won a signed print for their contribution to the mural.
SAFE (Safe and fear free environment) "new fish" mural(s)
There are 3 schools of salmon that swim through downtown Dillingham. They started as a community project to welcome in new community members by giving them a salmon to paint and to own a little part of the Dillingham Community. I helped to organize the first couple painting sessions and to give the salmon stencils, but since 2011, the project has taken off and is led by the staff at SAFE. This is the first school that was displayed on the side of the Sam Fox Museum and Library.
2011 Pit Stop Mural
This was one of the first sights of Dillingham on your way into town. One day I decided that needed to change so I called the owners of this building up and asked if I could paint it. I then contracted with SAFE to beautify Dillingham.
The inspiration for the mural came from Carrie Dann of the Western Shoshone tribe. Her land was taken from her by the federal government through gradual encroachment and a piece of advice she told us was to , "Know your history, it gives you strength." I was very moved by that statement and thought our community could benefit from her advice.

2009 Camper Mural
AYEA, "Getting Creative 'bout Real Food" 2010
This project was part of the Alaska Youth for Environmental Action, summer camp in Bethel, AK. The camp was aimed at valuing traditional foods. For the mural track, I had the youth brainstorm concepts relevant to the camp. They came up with the concept of "Cultural Evolution." The painting transforms from the ancestral way of hunting and dancing to the modern hunting and dancing style. The center depicts the cooking pot with steaming animals, that have remained the constant part in our diet and traditional way of life.

Community Mural Project 2007
Safe and Fear Free Environment hired me to work with teens and to spruce up the town. This is what we came up with. I painted the large pictures and more than 200 community members came in to contribute their own block of community spirit. The project was titled, "Paint Your Name On Dillingham" advocating as a community reminder for the 40 developmental assets that will help our youth succeed.
Bristol Express Mural 2005
My good friend and mentor, Chris Napoli, encouraged me to develop my artistic talent by hiring me to paint a mural for his gas station, Bristol Express. Thank you Chris!
